ESF® is extruded mixture of special plasticizer, additives and also called Polyvinyl Butyral.
ESF® has excellent adhesion, light transmission and safety. It is broadly apply to architectural laminated glass.
Placed the ESF® in the middle of two PVB film, then put it between washed and re-dried glass. As below, are some points for attention during placing process:
◎The process should be done with constant temperature and humidity.(suggested condition: 25℃ and RH20%)
◎The temperature of ESF®, PVB film, and glass should be the same in order to avoid the air exhaust and lead to bad adhesion.
◎Avoid any mechanical stretch.
As below are the purpose of pre-pressing:
◎Discharge the air between ESF®, PVB film, and glass
◎Enhancing the adhesion between ESF®, PVB film, and glass.
◎To seal the edge of laminated glass to avoid the air invalid into laminated glass.
There are two methods for pre-pressing:
￫Nip roll system: Broadly apply to flat laminated glass. As below are some suggested conditions:
￫Vacuum system: This process is mainly for bent glass. The suggested conditions are as below:
3. Autoclave Process
In this process, an air type or oil type autoclave is generally used. As following is suggested conditions of autoclave process:
◎The speed of temperature and pressure rising should be closed.
◎It takes more time to equilibrate pressure and temperature for multi-layer.
◎The pressure should be released when the temperature is under 50℃.
The laminated glass with ESF Film can achieve various standards for safety glass such as, CNS-1183, Taiwan patent right, and the People's Republic of China utility model patent.
